LINDA IVOR
Bitten by the racehorse bug

After years of pony club and fixing all her friends problem ponies Linda got a job riding morning  track work before school. She was only 15. A natural light weight she persued her dream and landed a racing apprenticeship on the Victor Peters property at Fullman Park, Mornington Peninsula.

At 17 she won her fourth race ride for Tony Krushker while on loan in Tasmania to Walter Jones. Not doing things by half she rode a double the following weekend. Upon returning to Mornington she booted home a 66 to 1 shot at her home track and made history. Luna was the first female to win a professional race at Mornington.

Cane Cutter,
the local cult horse

She rode track work for many local trainers from Mornington and Cranbourne before having a break to start a family. It was not for long before the racing bug bit back when her 2 young boys started school.

Now relocated from Melbourne to Murwillumbah, Linda turned her skills to CaneCutter, an unwanted, 4yr old trotter she purchased for $ 300. With Luna's training CaneCutter turned into an unmatched local cult horse with $85,000 prize money to his name.

The Golden Team

Good thing come in two and it was through this horse she met  Adam . Suffice to say they clicked like two peas in a pod doublethe talent, double the stakes.

Now wonder that soon this unique partnership turned their dream in reality and started to make an impact in the racing world. With the talent present at The Golden Hands Racehorse Training and Education Centre at Caloundra is the only place to have your racehorse trained if you're ready for success.

ADAM IVOR
The man with the golden hands.

Adam Ivor grew up in a show jumping family near Tamworth. Traveling and successfully competing in the show jumping circuit in his late teens, he started riding track work and breaking in local racehorses. Due his exceptional talent for training racehorses Adam quickly became known as "the man with the golden hands".

Adam gained valuable experience in breaking and educating racehorses while working for the prominent Rick Worthington and John Squires. He obtained his racehorse trainer license and had success with a small team training at Qurindi, NSW.

In 2003 Adam moved to Murwillumbah where he met Luna, racehorse trainer and owner of Cane Cutter who was fast making his name as a local cult horse.

A new team
in the making

Adam and Luna married and started training a small team of racehorses at Murwillumbah. Adam took over the main role of racehorse trainer as Luna was expectingl with their daughter. During this period Cane Cutter had 10 wins and 10 minor placings from 43 starts.

They had success with other locally owned racehorses and Adam was fast becoming known as an excellent educator and trainer of racehorses.

The best racehorse
trainer he's seen in action...

In Feburary 2007 they decided to move to the Sunshine Coast and set up training and educating racehorses at Caloundra. Queensland racing had just put in an all weather cushion track and with plans for 400 stables for racehorses to be built.

They believed this was the place to be. At Caloundra Adam was quickly recognised for his excellent horsemanship and calm manner with horses by Alan Mc Conechy who runs a racehorse spelling property 15 minutes from the track.

Alan recommended Adam to his clients. He was the best horseman he has seen in action for 40 years.
